The Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind is a non-profit organization serving in excess of 3,000 clients annually in Dallas, as well counties to the north, east and south of the city. Our extensive programs and services are provided through the generosity of our donors, sponsors, and benefactors.

Our service area includes:
Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Fannin, Grayson, Hunt, Kaufman, Navarro, Rockwall

Where your money goes:

  • $50 - provides one hour of individualized computer training, or one hour of in-home instruction for seniors, or one hour of Orientation and Mobility training.

  • $75 - supplies a low-visioned/blind Senior Citizen with adaptive devices and aids, combined with personalized instruction, to keep them independent longer.

  • $100 - provides five hours of keyboarding classes, or one month of CCTV rental.

  • $350 - pays for computer software upgrades and licensing for the Assistive Technology Lab.

  • $500 - sponsors a night of recreational activities, or provides a personalized assessment combined with one-on-one instruction sessions for a Senior Citizen in his or her residence.

  • $800 - buys 16 hours of individualized Orienation & Mobility training aimed at enabling clients to travel independently in the community.
