The Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind is a private, non-profit 501(c) 3 organization. It consists of three business units: Manufacturing, Business Services, and Community Services.
The Business Services and Manufacturing business units are funded by contracts with federal and state governments, as well as commercial customers.
The Community Services business unit is funded by individual donations, such as memorials, tribute gifts, trusts, and bequests. While some services are fee-for-service programs, support is also funded by grants from The United Way and other foundations.
