“We are very appreciative for the partnership we have with the members of the Dallas Sai Baba Center, for the friendships we have formed with them, and we thank them for having chosen our organization as one of their vehicles for community outreach.”
Terry McManus, Director, Grants and Special Events
Since 1999, for more than a decade, the members of the Sai Baba Center, led primarily by Manny & Sushi Mistry, have participated in our Bingo events. It would not be accurate to call them volunteers because they have far surpassed that title. They are Partners of the Dallas Lighthouse. Manny, Sushi, and the many members of the congregation participate at every level. They provide transportation for many of our guests, driving them to and from the event. They provide meals and prizes. They help call the bingo games and assist those individuals using Braille or low vision Bingo cards to play the games and cover the numbers as they are called. They help the individuals choose their prizes when they win. Most importantly, they bring and encourage their children to participate. Through the simple act of a night spent playing Bingo, The Sai Center and their members are able to touch this community in a very special way, sharing their values and spreading the gifts of fun and happiness. Their kindness, compassion and understanding make this monthly event a great pleasure for our many guests.
